DEVELOPER SERVICES

The i-Text Developer Toolkit provides developers with the ability to integrate an automated text-messaging capability to existing applications and websites, and to build new applications that incorporate text-messaging functionality.

With the toolkit you can achieve the following:

  • Send SMS text messages;
  • Receive replies to your sent messages;
  • Receive inbound text messages to your own dedicated Shortcode;
  • Query the delivery status of each sent message.

Developer Services are based around a full set of services that support the automated sending and receiving of SMS text messages:

  • Web Services: A common method to integrate different types of technologies using XML and secure SOAP programing;
  • HTTP Gateway: by submitting a simple request over HTTP protocol;
  • SMTP Gateway: by submitting a simple request over SMTP protocol or by e-mail;
  • Java SDK: by installing a simple jar file on your server to connect to the API directly.

Web Services

Web Services enables rapid integration using standard HTTP and SOAP protocols. It provides a secure and technology-independent way of communicating with the i-Text Gateway.

Using XML stream and encrypted data, Web Services provides a very reliable, high performance solution. Web Services and XML protocol creates an independent format for data exchange on any type of operating system.

HTTP Gateway

HTTP Gateway is the most popular way for small business customers to connect to the i-Text Gateway. It supports two way messaging and connects to any application, including static websites with HTML pages. Only one line of HTML code is required to send messages once you register and obtain a username. After a brief 10 minute integration and secure protocol (https) support process, our ready-to-deploy message templates make it very easy to integrate SMS functionality as a new feature into your existing applications.

SMTP Gateway

SMTP Gateway is another method to connect with the i-Text Gateway and allows the sending of messages through several channels (SMS, e-mail, voice). It can also be used as an e-mail to SMS feature.

All requests to the SMTP Gateway are submitted using a predefined mailbox. The SMTP Gateway will perform primary authentication and validation, will generate an internal request, and will forward this to the i-Text Gateway for processing.

Java SMS SDK

Build and customize an SMS application that suits your business requirements perfectly using our Java SMS SDK:

  • Java is platform independent, enabling you to develop and execute your program on any Java Runtime Environment (Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
  • Java SMS SDK is developer-friendly: send an SMS with as little as two lines of code. This means quicker development and fewer bugs.
